Trump impeachment evidence overwhelming - House report

Trump impeachment evidence overwhelming - House report

House Republicans issued their own rebuttal report on Monday, saying Democrats had not established an impeachable offense by Trump.

The House Intel Committee Democrats have released their impeachment report, finding that President Donald Trump abused the power of his office to "solicit foreign interference on his behalf in the 2020 election". It is expected to release its report to the public after the vote, a congressional source said.

Sen. John Kennedy, a Republican from Louisiana, told reporters that he does believe Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election despite the fact that the intelligence community concluded in early 2017 that Russian Federation interfered in the election to help President Trump.

The report - The Trump-Ukraine impeachment Inquiry Report - was made public on Tuesday by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

"The D.C. Wolves and Fake News Media are reading far too much into people being forced by Courts to testify before Congress", Trump said in a tweet on November 26.

Democrats have alleged that the phone call between Trump and Zelensky was part of Trump's effort to get a political investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden in exchange for military aid.

The report, released on Tuesday, accuses President Trump of withholding nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine in exchange for politically expedient investigations, including into rival Joe Biden.

"We expect to discuss the constitutional framework through which the House may analyze the evidence gathered in the present inquiry", the Committee's Chairman Jerry Nadler said in a letter to Trump last week.

The GOP report is expected to be released Tuesday, the same day Democrats on the House intelligence committee will release their own report.

Cipollone did not rule out White House participation in subsequent hearings.

Soldiers in the region were hunting down the assailants, who fled on scooters, the second source said. Hundreds of people have been killed in such attacks mostly executed by jihadist groups.

Trump is not the first USA president to attend a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit under the cloud of impeachment.

Grisham's statement in response to the House Intelligence Committee's report comes after two weeks of public testimony in the impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

"No other president has flouted the Constitution and power of Congress to conduct oversight to this extent".

"I regret that they've chosen to hold these hearings at the same time that the president and our entire national security team will be traveling to Europe, to London, to work on these important matters", Pompeo said.

Trump's interest for the privatization of the NHS has been a key focus of the British election, with Corbyn accusing Johnson and the Conservative Party of including it in a post-Brexit deal with the United States.

"I think it's very unpatriotic of the Democrats to put on a performance", Trump said.

"We have absolutely nothing to do with it and we wouldn't want to if you handed it to us on a silver platter", Trump said.

President Trump's concerns about Hunter Biden's role on Burisma's board are valid.

"There is also compelling and indisputable evidence that Ukrainian government officials - some working with a Democrat operative - sought to influence the USA presidential election in 2016 in favor of Secretary Clinton and in opposition to President Trump", Republicans claim. This theory has been widely debunked, and the U.S. intelligence agencies are unanimous in saying Moscow was behind the hacking of Democratic Party emails in 2016. I mean, polling shows that 70% of Americans believe the president has committed misconduct, but that's a lot higher percentage than believe that the president should be impeached and removed.

That will move the action to the Senate, where Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will most probably go through the motions of holding a trial, but ultimately leave Trump in office.
