Prince Andrew 'exploited trade envoy job to help multi-millionaire friend'

In the Newsnight interview, Prince Andrew said the alleged encounter did not happen, adding: "I was with the children and I'd taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking for a party at I suppose, sort of, four or five in the afternoon".

On Monday, BBC will air an interview with Virginia Giuffre, who claims she had sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17.

Virginia Roberts, who's now 36 and goes by her married title Guiffre, claims she and Andrew had intercourse thrice after she was launched to him by Epstein's former girlfriend and their mutual pal Ghislaine Maxwell.

Those explanations provoked derision and ridicule in newspapers and social media, while the prince was also criticized for failing to show sympathy for the victims of Epstein, who killed himself in a US prison in August while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

"So the process of slimming the monarchy has already begun, as we know Charles was pushing his mother to meet with Andrew and have him step back from his royal duties".

"In August 2019, following the death of Jeffrey Epstein, the MPS reviewed the decision making and our position remains unchanged", the police said.

"I didn't know Andrew and never met anyone from the royal household".

The hour-long episode, titled The Prince And The Epstein Scandal, is set to be screened on BBC1 on Monday evening.

According to Roberts' under-oath statement, she claimed she was forced to sleep with Prince Andrew on three occasions. "But royal watchers said her grip on internal matters had weakened for several reasons", noting the retirement of "disciplinarian" Prince Philip, 98, and the Queen's longtime secretary, Christopher Geidt.

She wraps up the clip by thanking her subscribers, telling everyone she misses them, and stating she's excited to start uploading again.

However, it has emerged that Prince Andrew's appointment as the figurehead for the Grenadier Guards - one of the Army's most illustrious regiments - following the Duke of Edinburgh's retirement left top brass reeling with embarrassment in 2017.

In repeated statements, the Duke of York has said the claims - which were struck from the record by a judge in United Kingdom legal proceedings in 2015 as being "immaterial and impertinent" - are "false and without foundation".

He said: "I should imagine there were plenty of people sceptical of reports that Prince Charles wanted a slimmed-down monarchy when he became king".

Giannelloni alleges that she was not searched, nor asked to sign in, before her appointment at the palace in 2000, which was booked by Prince Andrew's then assistant Charlotte Manley.

She told Panorama reporter Darragh Macintyre: "He is the most disgusting dancer I've ever seen in my life".

'I mean, come on, I'm calling BS on this, because that's what it is'.

She and Queen Elizabeth II's second son later had sex at Maxwell's house in central London, she alleged.

It said the Duke "unequivocally regrets his ill-judged association" with Epstein and is willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.
