Cold This Weekend, Snow By Tuesday?

High temperatures today reached the upper 30s to lower 40s for most of Northeast Michigan.

Afternoon temperatures on Friday likely won't make it back up to 60. South winds will be sustained at about 10 to 20 miles per hour with some higher gusts possible. This breeze combined with morning lows in the teens will send wind chills into the single digits and in some extreme cases, close to zero degrees. It's breezy under partly sunny skies for Friday. High pressure builds to our north Wednesday into Thursday. A chilly burst of air works in behind this system, and some rain showers change to snow showers overnight Thursday before the precipitation comes to end.

High temperatures on Monday will only reach the low 30s. As of now, amounts can not be given as the models have to work is out, however sticking is possible as temperatures fall well below freezing. A cold front will move in on Tuesday bringing much cooler temperatures and scattered showers, potentially mixing with some snow.

Some of the locals were too late to flee the flames and desperately seek for shelter while they were trapped in their homes. Two other people have died and more than 30 are injured as wildfires continue to rage across the east coast of Australia .

Tuesday is when we are tracking our next system that will bring rain, wind, and on the backside of the system - snow. Temperatures are expected to crash behind the next front which promises to deliver the coldest air of the season so far.

The winters in Acadiana since, in spite of have some limited cold outbreaks, have all been above normal during the periods of December through February. By the time the cold air arrives, the moisture in the atmosphere is no longer sufficient for snow.

Starting mostly in the low 40s this morning with clouds moving out. And then parts of New Jersey could get stuck below freezing all day Wednesday. The snow will move into the region late Sunday evening, after 9-10 p.m. and continue through the early hours of Veteran's Day on Monday.
