Malan, Morgan Set Up 76-run Victory for England, Level Series

In the course, the duo tumbled past several records as they stitched the highest T20I stand for the third wicket by any pair.

This is also the second-highest total by any team against New Zealand, behind Australia's 245 for 5 in Auckland previous year.

The pair posted the highest third-wicket partnership by any side in a T20 worldwide and the 241 is England´s highest total. Before this, the highest stand by an England pair was 159, by Alex Hales and Ravi Bopara against West Indies in 2012. But after his astonishing century in Napier - amid 45 minutes of carnage with the England captain - he will surely join him for next year's T20 World Cup.

At the halfway stage of the innings, England had posted a steady score of 88 for two before putting on a rapid 153 runs in the final 10 overs at McLean Park.

Malan became only the second Englishman to hit a century in a Twenty20 worldwide when he smacked his sixth six, reaching the mark quicker than Alex Hales with his 60-ball hundred against Sri Lanka during the 2014 World Cup.

The goal came after a counter-attack in the 95th minute when Odsonne Edouard played in Ntcham. They had raced into a 4-0 halftime lead.

England's Dawid Malan scored an unbeaten 103, only the second T20I century by an Englishman.

When the teams returned, spinner Matt Parkinson claimed 4-47 as New Zealand were all out for 165 in the 17th over, squaring the series at 2-2. Although the 33 year-old took part in some light training on Thursday, including having some throw downs, England's management have made a decision to be precautious by adding Bairstow to the Test party. The left-hander now has a century and five half centuries from nine worldwide innings and an average of 57.25.

Dawid Malan of England celebrates his century. He struck seven sixes in his innings, the joint-most by an England batsman in a T20I innings.

Tom Banton looked good in his 20-ball 21, hitting four fours and a six before falling becoming Santner's second victim. He reached the three-figure mark in just 48 deliveries and his splendid innings included nine boundaries and six maximums. It is the joint-fastest by any batsman against New Zealand, equaling Cameron White's innings in Christchurch in 2010.
