House Intelligence Committee subpoenas Mick Mulvaney for impeachment inquiry testimony

Mr Mulvaney said in a news conference last month that the Trump administration's decision to hold up military aid to Ukraine was linked to Mr Trump's demand for investigations in rival Joe Biden and his son.

Bolton, who was sacked by Trump in September, was also called to appear on Thursday but did not show, and his attorney said he would not testify voluntarily.

Mulvaney was issued a subpoena Thursday and ordered to appear before the Intelligence committee Friday. "And he said that I said that".

The battle is likely to go to the Supreme Court and could spill into next year.

Vindman is the only government official interviewed so far in the impeachment inquiry who listened to the call between Trump and Zelensky.

Ivanka Trump said that her father released a transcript of his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after Democrats launched the impeachment inquiry, adding, "everything is in the transcript".

Williams was one of a handful of United States officials who listened in on the call.

Este martes, Donald Trump escribió un serie de tuits en los que ofreció ayuda de su gobierno a México para ir contra los 'monstruos' del narcotráfico.

-John Bolton, Trump's former national security adviser, was aware of "many relevant meetings and conversations" related to the Ukraine pressure campaign that House impeachment investigators have not yet learned about, his attorney Charles Cooper wrote in a letter to the House general counsel.

Vindman, a Ukraine policy expert for the NSC, gave a deposition October 29 to House committees in charge of an impeachment inquiry to President Donald Trump.

Kent told investigators that that was his understanding of what Trump wanted Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to say in order to unlock US military aid, as relayed to the official by others, including those in direct contact with the president. A transcript of his testimony was released earlier this week.

Ambassador William Taylor, a diplomat to Ukraine, and George Kent, deputy assistant secretary for European affairs, will testify on November 13 and Marie Yovanovitch, the former US ambassador to Ukraine, will testify on November 15, Schiff said.

"Williams testified that she had limited information about why military aid was being withheld from Ukraine".

This past week, a dozen Trump administration figures, including big names like Mulvaney and Bolton, declined to appear before the Democratic-led panel. It was a reference to Mr Trump's view, pushed by his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani but outside of mainstream USA intelligence, that Ukraine played a role interfering in the election.
