Barr: Mueller's Hill testimony will be 'public spectacle'

The House Judiciary Committee Thursday afternoon approved a resolution to authorize subpoenas for documents and testimony from former and current White House officials as part of an investigation into the Trump administration's zero-tolerance immigration policies.

"When Robert Mueller leaves Capitol Hill, I think the American people will see that there was no collusion and there was oceans of bias", Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who sits on the Judiciary Committee, said on Fox News this week.

The subpoena targets include Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law; Jeff Sessions, the former attorney general; Rod Rosenstein, the former deputy attorney general who appointed Mueller as the special counsel; Michael Flynn, the president's first national security adviser; John Kelly, the former White House chief of staff; and Corey Lewandowski, Trump's former campaign manager.

To that end, the committee voted to authorize subpoenas of Keith Davidson, a former attorney for adult-film star Stormy Daniels, National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard and American Media Inc. chief executive David Pecker.

"They also want to interview the highly conflicted and compromised Mueller again".

Both Democrats and Republicans are planning to meet before the hearing to work up their respective strategies, but some lawmakers are already itching to ask their questions.

Trump has lodged numerous complaints about investigations into his administration and continued Wednesday with a tweet saying, "The Dems Witch Hunt continues!"

Trump lashed out at Democrats ahead of the planned vote, suggesting that they should focus on immigration issues instead.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, aka Tommy Robinson, jailed for nine months
The crowd marched towards the Old Bailey chanting "we want Tommy out" before some began pelting police with bottles and cans. A social media account in Robinson's name called the sentence an "absolute joke" and said it was time to protest.

Treatment of migrants at the southern USA border has been a prominent issue throughout Trump's presidency and gained greater focus this year with an unprecedented level of children and families entering the United States without documentation.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said today that she will no longer be discussing actions made by Attorney General William Barr because she believes he lied while under oath and testifying before Congress.

U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller makes a statement on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election at the Justice Department in Washington, U.S., May 29, 2019.

The special counsel has agreed to testify about the Trump-Russia report he issued in April.

And it comes less than a week before Mueller testifies before the committee about his report, a televised event that Democrats hope will better inform the public about the details in the 448-page document that is thick with legal analysis.

"For months, we have held hearings and sent letters to the agencies of jurisdiction involved with implementing a catastrophic and inhumane family separation policy at the Southern border".

Collins said the panel was "rolled" and is "having our legs cut out from under us by limiting the questioning".

Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia, the committee's top Republican, was among the members who described a format that would have Mueller leave to appear before the House Intelligence Committee, a smaller panel where all members are expected to have time to ask questions.
