Officer Sought Sex with College Student Posing as Minor on Tinder

"I was just looking to get someone", Ethan told NBC, explaining that he had gone undercover originally in order to identify possible pedophiles after a friend told him she had been abused as a child.

Tinder only allows adults to sign up, so "Esther" listed her age as 19.

In May, using Snapchat's gender-swap filter, he took a photograph of himself as a woman.

"I believe he messaged me, 'Are you down to have some fun tonight?' and I chose to take advantage of it", Ethan told the station.

Ethan sent the conversations, which he screenshotted, to the not-for-profit crime tip hotline Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers, after which police investigated the incident and arrested Davies. He matched with Robert Davies, a San Mateo police officer, who asked "Are you down to have some fun tonight?" on 11 May 2019.

"We started texting on there, and it got a lot more explicit", Ethan said.

They moved the conversation to Kik-where "Esther" told the person that she was actually 16-years-old-then moved the conversation to Snapchat, according to San Jose police.

Now at right back they have Diogo Dalot, Matteo Darmian, Antonia Valencia, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah who is on loan. In a separate claim, Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports tweets that the Red Devils have made a "substantial" bid.

"He just happened to be a cop", he said.

In the Snapchat filter case, the student-turned-vigilante told a local NBC news station this was the first time he has done this, and will likely be the last. According to police, Davies acknowledged that he was speaking to a minor, continuing to chat on Snapchat about engaging in sexual activity.

"I made a decision to take advantage of it", Ethan told the news station.

The student reportedly came forward as a "concerned citizen", alerting authorities of the potential sexual predator in last month, and after San Jose police launched an investigation, it was confirmed that Davies in fact was a police officer in San Mateo. He has been charged with contacting a minor to commit a felony, which itself is a felony charge.

"This alleged conduct, if true, is in no way a reflection of all that we stand for as a Department, and is an affront to the tenets of our department and our profession as a whole", she said.

"I can assure you that we remain steadfast to this commitment to serving our community with 'Professionalism, Integrity, and Excellence, '" added the police chief.

The San Mateo Police Department issued a statement saying that Davies was placed on paid administrative leave.
