Norway vs. Nigeria - Football Match Report

Norway had their third goal in the 36th minute thanks to an own goal by Osinachi Ohale when she poked the ball into her own net after a cross from the right.

Nigeria was hurt when defender Faith Michael was stretchered off after a collision with her goalkeeper early in the second half.

They are without Ada Hegerberg, the first Women's Ballon d'Or victor, who has refused to play for the national side since 2017 after taking a stand against what she describes as a lack of respect for female players in the country. 19-year-old Giulia Gwinn was the scorer of the winning goal in the 66th minute after the Chinese had wasted a couple of gilt-edged chances in the first half.

Despite the big win, Norway occupy second spot in the group after France's 4-0 win over Korea Republic on Friday evening.

Trump threatens more tariffs on Mexico
Speaker Nancy Pelosi got in a shot at Trump's negotiations with Mexico during a talk at the Peterson Foundation Tuesday. He said he would await new details about a migration pact the United States signed with the country last week.

A 2-1 defeat of North Korea and 2-0 win over Denmark, on either side of a 7-1 roasting by Team USA, steered the African champions to the quarter finals, where they came back from three goals down to draw with Brazil before losing by the golden goal in extra time. And with Spain next on its group-play schedule, it can't afford a stumble here. "So, I hope we can score a lot of goals". "We know it's going to be tough, but we have a very good team".

"When it comes to sport, never ever give up". The Guingamp player has however doused tension choosing instead to say women's football has evolved from what it used to be 24 years ago.

The teams are in Group A at the World Cup. The top scorer and most valuable player of the Federation Internationale de Football Association U20 Women's World Cup in Canada in 2014 has extra motivation to take the finals in France by storm. "You must give it your best", the coach told the players after their last training session at the Stade Jean Bouchon in Reims ahead of the tie against Norway. The No. 1-ranked United States is the defending Women's World Cup champion.

The game petered out late on, with Norway only having one shot on target in the second half.
