Molinari one clear of Woods with nine to play at Masters

Molinari one clear of Woods with nine to play at Masters

Woods returned to miss the putt, and then took three shots from 35 feet behind the par-5 13th green to lose another prime birdie opportunity.

A birdie on the 10th was immediately cancelled out on the next and another bogey looked on the cards after his drive on the 13th clipped a tree - but after pitching out on to the fairway McIlroy hit his approach to 13 feet and holed for birdie.

As for Francesco Molinari, who was 14 that spring, he's not even sure he stayed up until the wee hours of the morning in Italy to watch a golf hero in his country, Costantino Rocca, get smoked by 15 shots in Woods' record-setting win.

It's been quite a turnaround for Woods compared to where he was the past few years.

And the 36-year-old is showing ice-cool composure to maintain his advantage into the back nine. Jeff Sherman, vice president of risk for the SuperBook and a golf odds specialist, said he couldn't recall the last time the book had suffered a net loss on the Masters victor and that Woods' win likely produced the book's largest loss on a golf event. They have been teammates in the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup and in 2017, Mickelson told Golf Digest that Kuchar was the biggest trash talker on the PGA Tour.

Finau, aiming to become the fifth straight player to make the Masters his first major title, opened with three straight birdies. "It doesn't feel like Augusta National - but I remember when Jack finished up his last round here he finished up on nine, so I guess some precedent has already been set".

Bruins defeat Leafs 4-1 to even up first round playoff series
The 28-year-old has been offered an in-person hearing, which gives the league the option to suspend him for six games or more. Unfortunately, it doesn't help the Leafs when the Bruins are able to get away with plays what should be called for penalties.

To do that he'll need to overcome a player who's vaulted himself into the game's elite in the past year. Molinari, Woods and Finau were due off at 9:20am local time (2:20pm Irish time).

Gunning for a fifth Masters green jacket and a 15th major title on Sunday, Woods has pulled within a stroke of Molinari courtesy of a stunning iron shot into the par-4 seventh hole. After a nice two-putt for par at the 16th, Woods had an 8-footer for birdie at the 17th and a 14-footer at the 18th, both of which did not drop. He won the Quicken Loans National, Woods' own tournament, by eight shots before winning at Carnoustie in July. His incredible 64 got him to third place and he looked late in the round like he might win. It's working so well that Molinari goes into the final round having gone 43 consecutive holes without a bogey.

Finau will be the wildcard in the last threesome.

The tournament record is 63.

"You never know how it's going to go, especially around a course like here". The 65 players combined to go 80-under par, at 70.77 the second-lowest scoring average in Masters history.

Koepka would've beaten this prop twice this tournament so far after shooting a 66, 71 and 69 through the first three days.
