India called Pakistan's bluff with air strikes: PM Modi

He said outgoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained hell bent upon to change the narrative, renaming institutions, areas, roads, official buildings during five years rule Narinder made deliberate attempts to change the history of the country, besides taking control of vital institutions in order to silence the opponents, but people of the country will respond to this rhetoric on the part of Narendra Modi and will respond to BJP RSS by defeating in ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Referring to the air strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Balakot, Modi told an election rally here: "Pakistan and its supporters have been threatening us for long with its nuclear capability but the IAF called its bluff with its strikes".

Earlier in the day in Kathua, Modi blamed the Abdullahs and Muftis saying, the two had "ruined" three generations of Jammu and Kashmir and stressed that he would not allow them to "divide" India. "This is a new India and it will strike terrorists well inside their hideouts across the border", he warned. He specified that the Congress has used the defence forces only "to generate income, be it Bofors [Swedish arms manufacturer] or helicopter deals", adding that the Congress and its allies "keep politics above the security of the country". Asking why do they choose power over Article 370 then? "They threaten India with a separate Prime Minister and also separation of the state from the country".

"They laid siege to the state for three generations. They may keep abusing me but they will not succeed in dividing this country".

Modi vowed that India would not give up its claim to Kashmir, the country's only Muslim-dominated state, which has been divided between two countries and been the subject of two wars between the neighbours since their independence in 1947.

Mehbooba reacted to the National Conference leader's tweet by sharing a picture of Modi and Omar with a bouquet of flowers with the comment: "Exhibit B. Modi ji looks thrilled to be greeted by a dynast".
