Rep. Khanna: Too Soon to Decide on Trump Impeachment

Rep. Khanna: Too Soon to Decide on Trump Impeachment

Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the US House of Representatives and the top Democrat, has sad she does not favour impeaching President Donald Trump, as has been threatened by many of her colleagues, because it would be "divisive" for the country and, most notably, "he's just not worth it".

Our Verdict: Steyer won't let politics stand in the way of impeachment.

Democrats have made no secret of their hatred for President Trump, but dislike of an individual alone is not grounds for impeachment. This is news. I'm going to give you some news right now because I haven't said this to any press person before.

I'm not for impeachment.

He characteristically ignored any unfavorable facts of his administration, such as the various guilty pleas and indictments against former Trump officials and campaign workers as Robert Mueller investigates allegations of collusion between him and Russian Federation. She said that the president is "just not worth it".

"I'm not for impeachment", Pelosi told The Washington Post Magazine in an interview published Monday.

Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries of NY made this point bluntly: "We did not run on impeachment".

Yet, in a second post on his favorite social media site, the president signaled he has a clear understanding of the impeachment process, asking how the House could impeach him since he "has done nothing wrong and impeachment is for "high crimes and misdemeanors"?" "I didn't believe in it then; I don't believe in it now", Pelosi said.

Facebook struggles into day two of global outage
According to the website Downdetector , Facebook's outage spanned the globe, with reports of disruptions concentrated on the U.S. In November, Facebook had a brief 40-minute outage. "We've now resolved the issues and our systems are recovering".

In the pre-dawn darkness of 5:50 a.m., the president, 72, returned to a cherished topic: himself and what he sees as his history-making success in the Oval Office.

"But not all Democrats are gelling with Pelosi's message".

Pelosi and others have cited the example of the failed impeachment of Democrat Bill Clinton in 1998, which produced a popular backlash that cost the Republicans seats in the House in the 1998 elections-although, significantly, the Republicans kept control of the House and then, emboldened by the spineless Democratic Party reaction to the attempted political coup against Clinton, stole the 2000 presidential election and installed George W. Bush in the White House. We did not win on impeachment.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer know Trump is in hot water.

Public hearings-such as the recent session held with former Trump fixer Michael Cohen before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee-will convince the American public that Trump needs to be removed, Steyer said. "I think Pelosi realizes this: We can't spend all of our time concentrating on what we're fighting against", he said.

"The perceptions of Estonia and members of both houses of the US Congress regarding the challenges we face and their solutions are fairly similar", she said following the meetings. "And I see little to be gained by putting the country through that kind of wrenching experience".

Among the policies pushed by the left-wing of the Democratic Party is the "Green New Deal", put forward by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen.
