Netflix has announced that the comedy One Day At a Time will not be returning for Season 4. "I'm also convinced love and laughter add time to one's life".

In addition to Calderon-Kellet and Royce, Lear served as executive producer along with Michael Garcia and Brent Miller. One of the show's main characters was a lesbian teen named Elena (played by Isabella Gomez), and during the show's three season run, ODAAT featured an emotional coming out story and a non-binary love interest for Elena named Syd (played by Sheridan Pierce).

Meanwhile, thanks to numerous cast and crew members behind One Day at a Time, including none other than Norman Lear, the #SaveODAAT hashtag took off. Miranda noticed and did what he could to propel it along.

Netflix axed the critically acclaimed comedy about a Cuban-American family on Thursday morning, posting a Twitter thread explaining the "very hard decision". The streamer said the hard decision to not renew the series "did not come easily", but the choice was made after "not enough people watched to justify another season".
