Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Reportedly Makes Free Agency Decision

The Bears are adding safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in free agency, NFL Network reported on Thursday afternoon.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who spent four and a half years in a Green Bay Packers uniform, will sign with the Chicago Bears, according to a report by NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

When the Bears lost two four-year starters in their secondary and replaced them with veteran free agents in Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Buster Skrine this week, there remained one big unknown: What does Chuck Pagano think?

Now, Clinton-Dix will join his second new team in the span of six months.

Despite the popular opinion that Clinton-Dix's play deteriorated after the trade to the Redskins previous year, his Pro Football Focus grade of 79.3 was actually the best of his career, and 17th-best among safeties in the NFL.

Clinton-Dix was selected by the Packers with the No. 21 pick in the 2014 draft. In nine games with the Redskins, he had 65 tackles with three pass deflections. Pro Football Focus rated Clinton-Dix as the 32nd best safety during the 2018 regular season.

Last season, Clinton-Dix had 27 tackles and three interceptions with three pass deflections in the first seven games of the year for the Packers before being dealt to Washington on October 30th. He earned a Pro Bowl invitation during the 2016 season.
