Macy Head To Court After Guns Are Drawn During Arrest

Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman and Full House mainstay Lori Loughlin were among 50 individuals charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in relation to an alleged fraud scheme to secure admissions for students at elite American universities. This money was allegedly paid to William Rick Singer's charity, the Key Worldwide Foundation, that was just a front for the scam.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Lelling said the college admissions scam is a nationwide scheme, but there were several connections to the Boston area.

No students have been charged, with authorities saying that in many cases the teenagers were unaware of what was going on.

"Every year hundreds of thousands of hard-working, talented students strive for admission to elite schools", he said.

The Fuller House star is among dozens charged in an alleged college admissions cheating scam involving elite colleges and universities including Yale, Georgetown, the University of Southern California and Stanford.

A follow-up court appearance for Loughlin has been set for March 29 in Boston, Massachusetts. According to multiple reports, the actress landed at LAX on Tuesday during the court hearing. "Friends close to Felicity, Bill [William H. Macy] and the family are completely shocked over her arrest".

US Federal Authorities reportedly called this certain case the biggest college admissions scandal ever prosecuted by the US Justice Department, with the celebrity parents accused of paying almost $25 million in bribes.

John Vandemoor, a former Stanford University sailing coach who worked with Singer, also pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy.

Macy and Felicity Huffman have reportedly appeared in front of a downtown Los Angeles judge at the federal courthouse after the actress was indicted this morning on charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. Later, she allegedly "made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so".

Court documents allege the couple paid bribes totaling $500,000 to have their two daughters designated as recruits to the University of Southern California crew team, despite not actually participating in the sport.

Giannulli appeared in court on Tuesday and was released on US$1 million bail.

According to federal prosecutors, she allegedly paid a "charitable contribution" of $15,000 that actually went to pay for someone to help her daughter cheat on her SATs.

Huffman has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, according to federal court documents filed Monday in MA.
