Stone says he should be free to speak in Russian Federation probe case

U.S. President Donald Trump's longtime adviser Roger Stone on Friday urged a federal judge not to ban him from talking about his criminal case in the Russian Federation probe, saying that unlike Kim Kardashian he was little known to the public and that he did not need a gag order.

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker offered testimony Friday before the House Judiciary Committee where he was pointedly asked whether CNN was tipped off about the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid of Roger Stone last month. The lobbyist pleaded not guilty and vowed to "tell the truth" throughout the process.

His speech shouldn't be restricted, because his lifeblood is writing and speaking about politics and fashion, his attorneys say. That lack of fame means he will be able to have an unbiased jury when his case goes to trial.

He said people who closely follow American politics might know who he was, but he was "hardly ubiquitous in the larger landscape of popular consciousness".

Boucher thought his team , up 2-1, should have put the game away in the second period but could not convert good scoring chances. He's an elite scoring threat from the wing and has made the All-Star team in each of his three National Hockey League seasons.

"On Instagram, Kim Kardashian has 126 million followers", the filing pointed out. "Roger Stone's Instagram following amounts to 39 thousand subscribers".

In the filing Friday, Stone's attorneys write that his comments don't merit a "clear and present danger to a fair trial".

Like many conservatives, Carlson has raised suspicions that Stone's arrest was politically motivated. He would still be able to opine on "foreign relations, immigration and Tom Brady", she said, for example, but shouldn't treat his in-court proceedings "like a book tour". One agent swings his firearm around as he scans and surveys Stone's front porch. But in a separate filing Friday, Stone argued prosecutors have not produced sufficient evidence to show the relation.

The DC District Court has special rules that govern related cases so that those with similar facts can be assigned to the same judge. "Stone's either indictment or arrest before that information was made available to the public", Whitaker said. Twenty minutes later, the same camera shows agents leading Roger Stone back into his house.
