Ocasio-Cortez Gaslights ‘Green New Deal’

And AOC has never said anything like that, right?

A policy adviser for New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that her Green New Deal proposal did not include economic protections for those "unwilling to work" and claimed that the phrase came from a "doctored document". "I think you're referring to some sort of document, some sort of doctored document that someone else has been circulating". Regardless of what happens to the Green New Deal proposal itself, serious work lies ahead. There are no longer any press releases or content on the Green New Deal on her media page-only a release on her swearing in earlier this year.

"No, no. She's actually tweeted it out to laugh at it".

"Ok, well then good, thank you for correcting me", Carlson said.

Hockett then accused Republicans of putting out misinformation about the plan.

Whitaker Stuns Committee by Telling Judiciary Chairman ‘Your Five Minutes Is Up’
The vote doesn't issue a subpoena to Whitaker but allows committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler to do so if Whitaker is uncooperative. In the days before Friday's hearing, Nadler and Whitaker sparred over the conditions of the appearance, as NPR reported Friday.

An archive of the page, however, clearly shows Ocasio-Cortez circulated the information that the Green New Deal would provide jobs for those "unwilling to work". Some of the discussion, particularly from the right, is derisive and mocking, but Ocasio-Cortez and Markey invited it by stapling a progressive wish list to their much-needed call to action on climate change.

Still, Ocasio-Cortez and Markey have the political world talking. It did not match the Green New Deal's legislative text on aspects like welfare and nuclear power.

Ocasio-Cortez retweeted a researcher at the liberal Media Matters for America who said Hockett debunked "all the conservative media lies" on Fox News. At worst, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and her team are lying to the American people.

It appears there was more than one document being discussed yesterday, only one of which I had heard about with any definiteness by last evening after a long day of media appearances - namely, the one referred to by the Congresswoman in her tweet.
