Citing an "incident" that "failed to meet expectations and values" of the organization, the Blue Jackets on Thursday told Bobrovsky to stay away from the club while it prepared to play Nashville in Nationwide Arena.

This news comes after an embarrassing 4-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in which Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 19 shots.

"There are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture", general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said in a statement.

The drama between the Blue Jackets and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky couldn't wait until next month's National Hockey League trade deadline.

Coach John Tortorella declined to comment on the matter.

With the two-time Vezina victor away from the team, the Jackets recalled goaltender Jean-Francois Berube from Cleveland of the American Hockey League.

Bobrovsky, a two-time Vezina Trophy victor, is 18-13-1 with a 2.87 goals-against average, two shutouts and a.906 save percentage this season for the Blue Jackets, who are third in the Metropolitan Division through Wednesday's games. "After the last season, I told the situation to the management of the Blue Jackets so they know everything". Goalie Joonas Korpisalo said he was scheduled to start against the Predators.

The Blue Jackets, who are third in the Metropolitan Division entering Thursday's game, will host the Predators at 7 p.m. ET.
