Major League Baseball hot stove: Twins to sign Schoop to 1-year deal

Contract: Schoop made $8.5 million last season and signed a one-year deal for $7.5 million with the Twins, with incentives.

Schoop's deal would allow him to earn a $100,000 performance bonus for reaching 600 plate appearances, plus additional award bonuses. He has played parts of four seasons in the majors with the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting.281 with 30 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 56 RBIs in 229 games.

After having a terrific 2017 campaign, Schoop fell off considerably in 2018, hitting only.233 during his time with both the Orioles and Brewers.

The Indians announced that they have signed Carlos Carrasco to a four year contract extension which takes him through the 2022 season.

Por tanto, de los 23 elementos que incluye Chivas en su plantilla, 22 cuentan con nacionalidad mexicana y Zendejas como el único estadounidense.

Torreyes, 26, can play second base, shortstop and third base.

Schoop became a free agent last week when the Brewers failed to offer a 2019 contract.

For his career, Schoop has hit.258 with 110 home runs and 333 RBI's. First baseman Joe Mauer retired last month, after second baseman Brian Dozier and shortstop/third baseman Eduardo Escobar were traded at the non-waiver deadline last summer.
