Milan close to appointing Arsene Wenger as a coach

The report claimed that the team owners are the ones who are pushing for Wenger to be at the helm and that intense talks have been going on for the past weeks.

Reports in France had suggested this week that the former Arsenal boss was in negotiations with the Serie A club to replace current manager Gennaro Gattuso.

The Rossoneri have recently been taken over by the U.S. investment fund Elliot Management Corporation and the early season form of the club this term has not lived up to the expectations of those in power at the fund and they want to replace Gennaro Gattuso according to these reports.

Wenger stepped down from his head coach role at Arsenal in the summer, ending a 22-year reign at the Emirates.

Whitsunday Police are interviewing witnesses to the incident and will use this information to prepare a report for the Coroner. Less than a day earlier, 46-year-old Tasmanian tourist Justine Barwick suffered a major injury to her upper left thigh.

However, talking to beIN SPORTS, Wenger dismissed the rumours out of hand.

Wenger's denial has put an end to the speculation for the time being, but the 69-year-old has admitted recently that he plans to return to football in some capacity in the near future.

He added: 'I cannot master the rumours, I can only master what I do in my life. I don't want to lie and that's why I can't give you any information. "I will be somewhere but I don't know where".

"That's wrong as well, I'm at the moment just focused on doing well for beIN Sport and that's not easy!"
