Drake accuses Vancouver casino of profiling and not letting him gamble

In its original statement, Parq Vancouver said that it was "actively investigating this matter".

The Toronto-born rapper is in Vancouver this weekend for two shows on his Aubrey and the Three Migos tour, and apparently chose to do a little gambling - but says he was denied.

The casino operates in one of the most complex, highly regulated industries in Canada.

Drake called Parq Casino the "worst run business I have ever witnessed" and went on to accuse the business of "profiling me and not allowing me to gamble when I had everything they originally asked me for".

Addressing Drake's claim of racism, he added: "We categorically stand against racism of any kind".

Fans have also left negative reviews referencing Drake on the Parq Vancouver Yelp page.

Narinder Nagra, Parq's spokesperson, said the casino has to follow "strict" regulations with respect to gaming.

The Parq Vancouver president - Joe Brunini - has apologised to Drake in a statement, but denied that racism was the reason the rapper was unable to gamble.

Whether the casino's refusal of service was racially motivated, as Drake claims, or all a misunderstanding, it's pretty obvious that they picked the wrong person to rile up. An RCMP report found evidence of money laundering in B.C. casinos linked to organized crime, drug importing, distribution and trafficking.

Drake admitted that he was "sorry" to have missed a text from the fan, named Kay, on the artist's birthday, but that he had been "looking forward" to seeing her after his tour finished. "We are committed to providing a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for all", he said.
