Spider-Man: Far From Home - Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders Confirmed!

Spider-Man: Far From Home - Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders Confirmed!

Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly playing the film's primary villain, Mysterio.

At the time, we believed it might have something to do with Captain Marvel reshoots, since we know for a fact Jackson is in that-but, obviously, now we know that's not the case. Jon Watts is directing and Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker.

Not only will Jackson be gracing the silver screen in Far From Home, but he'll also be starring alongside Brie Larsen in the upcoming Captain Marvel; the period piece will feature a digitally de-aged Jackson, which will hopefully allow ample room for his nuanced talents to shine.

The post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War showed Fury and Hill evaporating into the wind thanks to the snap of Thanos' finger.

In a report from Vulture, it has been revealed that Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively in the Spider-Man sequel, also known as Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Infinity War ended with both he and Hill (Cobie Smulders) fading from existence, though Fury did get a message off to Captain Marvel before fading away.

As of right now, Spider-Man: Far From Home is shooting in Europe, which is fitting since the film is set in Europe (you know...far from home), and will see Peter tackling his issues (and presumably Jake Gyllenhaal) overseas. Fans need something to keep them busy as they impatiently wait for Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, so going through Infinity War with a fine-toothed comb looking for clues is a way to cope. One such recently discovered element - spotted, as always, by an eagle-eyed Redditor - has larger implications on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In-between the release of Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home is the release of The Avengers 4, which we can guess somehow brings the characters back to life.
