Brilliant Buttler hits winning 95 not out in IPL

Brilliant Buttler hits winning 95 not out in IPL

Pune: Riding on the back of an emphatic hundred by Ambati Rayudu, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ripped apart the best bowling line up in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) - Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) - to register a comprehensive 8-wicket win at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium here on Sunday.

The cruise was halted slightly when Watson was run out - his old, exhausted legs not stretching enough - and Suresh Raina caught off successive overs, but by then, Chennai needed only 43 off 35.

CSK also moved a step closer to a play-offs spot with the win. He was aided massively by Shane Watson, who scored a half-century and was involved in a 134-run opening stand.

CSK have a positive head-to-head record against the SRH - 5-2 in seven meetings.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan (290 runs) got into the groove at the opportune time with a big knock against Delhi Daredevils while inspirational skipper Williamson (493 runs) has been in prime form throughout the tournament. Shikhar Dhawan, who had a lull period in the middle after hurting his hand, is back among the runs and with the calm and composed skipper Kane Williamson being consistent, SRH's top order seems to be in a good space.

The next stop: Both teams face tantalising matches in their next outing, Chennai hosting ladder-leaders Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday night desperate not to drop a second-straight game. In their last encounter, chasing a massive total of 188 runs. "The wicket played well and I just tried to capitalize on that".

Ireland finally make Test debut after opening day washout against Pakistan
There was drama at an initially sun-drenched Malahide right from Saturday's first ball of this stand-alone match. Pakistan looked to rebuild while the ball was still doing plenty, but what edges there were did not carry.

CSK and SRH have made a change each in their playing XIs.

After Over 20: SRH - 179 runs with the loss of 4 wickets.

Deepak Chahar, who returned to the CSK side, gave home team the best possible start as he dismissed opener Alex Hales (2) in the fourth over. "Yusuf's soar so Hooda comes in for him".

Also, the bowling zone of CSK is not showing a great performance as they are not able to defend targets of over 170.

While Thakur, who had impressive figures of 1/22 in his four overs against Rajasthan, is set to feature in the playing XI against Hyderabad, Willey's inclusion look hard as the English pacer leaked 47 runs bagging a wicket.

Incoming batsman Suresh Raina fell cheaply, contributing just couple of runs, with Chennai's scorecard reading 137/2 in 14.1 overs. CSK, in this case, will have to tighten the bowling. Most of the batsmen - Ambati Rayudu, Australian Shane Watson, West Indian Dwayne Bravo, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina - have contributed whenever the team needed.
