Get Ready for Three iPhone X Models This Year

Last year, Apple launched the iPhone X - it's most expensive iPhone model to date and as usual, the phone's sky-high price-tag seems to have helped Apple make enough profit to become the most profitable brand in the world once again.

The Economic Daily News added that Samsung Display was preparing to start OLED production for the next-gen iPhones in May.

IPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus held the number two and three spots in the Counterpoint research.Apple started to ship the models to customers starting on September 22.

That's because the entry-level iPhone for 2018, the X SE, will cost $100 more than the entry-level iPhone 8 did a year ago.

"Global handset profits declined 1 percent YoY, but Apple grew 1 percent YoY even with the iPhone X being available for only two months in Q4 2017". Royal Bank of Canada restated an "outperform" rating and set a $125.00 price objective on shares of Apple in a research report on Friday, January 13th.

Surprisingly, when it comes to revenue numbers, iPhone X wasn't the only driving force.

The leak, reported on by phone industry commentator Gordon Kelly, shows that the second generation iPhone X will retail for a slightly more affordable $899, while the new iPhone X SE will cost $799, and iPhone X Plus $999.

At No. 6 on the list is Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Counterpoint recently released the results of their research which covered the last calendar quarter of 2017.According to the research, Apple has taken the top spot in the smartphone profit market yet again. As Counterpoint's associate director, Tarun Pathak, explains, "Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) cumulative profits crossed $1.3 billion during Q4 2017".

Counterpoint Research added that the longer software support offered by Apple helped older iPhones stay relevant and keep minting money for the company. Despite not selling as many units as expected, the flagship alone made five times the profit of the aggregate profit of almost 600 Android device makers in the last quarter of 2017.

As expected the report pegs iPhone X at the top of the chart. The filing, first spotted by French website Consomac, suggests several unreleased iPhone models could be ready for a launch in the near future. It's likely they will be refreshed versions of the iPhone SE, which is due an upgrade in mid-2018, according to recent rumors. The Eurasian regulatory database has provided accurate details about the iPhone 7, AirPods, iPads, and MacBooks in the past.

New leaks on the upcoming iPhone reveal another hefty price tag for the smartphone.
