Daryl Worley arrested just outside Eagles' practice facility

Early this morning, Worley was tasered and arrested during a confrontation with Philadelphia police near the Eagles' facility. This arrest, according to Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Inquirer, could lead to the player's release. Both and the New York Daily News report Worley was arrested after being found unconscious in his vehicle. Worley was also reportedly found with a gun.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Worley, who's in his first season with the Eagles, was arrested at 6 a.m. E.T. this morning. The Eagles are scheduled to start an offseason conditioning program Monday, April 16.

Worley was expected to challenge for a starting cornerback spot this coming season but now it seems that his short tenure with the Eagles could come to an end.

Worley, 23, was a third-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2016.

Back in 2014, according to Metro News, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault stemming from involvement with a nightclub altercation, ultimately getting a six-month suspended sentence.

Worley is far from a lock to stick on the roster if the Eagles determine his actions Sunday morning were serious, as they are loaded with outside cornerbacks.

An Eagles spokesperson says the team is in the process of gathering more info about Sunday's incident.
