Will Ferrell Hospitalized After His Vehicle Flipped In Two-Car Accident

Ferrell, 50, suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the Associated Press.

Pictures circulating on social media show the former Saturday Night Live cast member sitting up and talking on his phone as he is being wheeled into the ambulance.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the I-5 freeway in Orange County, California, at about 10:50pm on Thursday. All three passengers were also reportedly hospitalized. The driver was in the second lane while Ferrell, two passengers and their chauffeur were in the high-occupancy vehicle lane to the driver's left. Ferrell was in the vehicle with three other passengers, and the auto was driven a by a chauffeur.

Ferrell's representative told TMZ the actor was not seriously hurt and was released from the hospital Friday morning. Earlier in the night, he was at a "Funny or Die" event outside San Diego.

Before the crash, Ferrell was appearing at an event in character as Ron Burgundy, the buffoonish 1970s news anchor from "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", according to posts on social media by people at the event and its host, amusing or Die.

Ferrell's rep didn't immediately return Page Six's request for comment.

California Highway Patrol spokesman Rafael Reynoso told The Hollywood Reporter that neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected in the crash.

The woman, who worked for Ferrell, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was rushed to the trauma center at Mission Hospital in nearby Mission Viejo.
