Pat Shurmur: Odell Beckham on hand, "wants to be great"

Pat Shurmur: Odell Beckham on hand,

No, Pat Shurmur is not viewing the attendance of Odell Beckham Monday's opening day of the Giants' offseason workout program as some sort of springboard to a long-term commitment or contract for the star receiver or a seminal moment in the history of the player, the franchise or the world.

"I believe Odell's a professional", Shurmur said on a conference call. "He wants to be great". He's professional, and I'damn glad he's now. He also explained he was not anxious about if Beckham, 25, that wants to be the N.F.L.'s highest paid player, would be afflicted with the eye surrounding the film and the transaction warnings.

It's important to note that attendance is now voluntary, so Flowers broke no rules by skipping the first day. Beckham has been working out in Los Angeles most of this offseason.

Beckham stayed away most of last spring as he eyes a new contract. "We all know the talent that Odell has and what he brings to the football field, and I look forward to playing with him this year and for years to come".

Though the story went nowhere, it was remembered by the Jewish community, Mr. This campaign, the motion added, was "bringing the party into disrepute".

Joining his teammates for offseason workouts will not only help lessen the perceived tension between sides, but it also gives Beckham insurance on his current $8.5 million pay for 2018 - if a player is injured at the team facility they are eligible to receive their entire salary. They could trade Beckham and get another first round pick or two out of it, and could still trade their number two pick, getting numerous early round picks there as well. I think it's important that Odell is here. The three-time Pro Bowler, who is coming off a season-ending ankle injury, can be an unrestricted free agent next year.

Shurmur said Monday he doesn't know how long Beckham plans to stay with the Giants during the rest of the offseason program.

"I picked a few guys so they could get work, and there were a number of other guys I could have invited also, but I only have one [throwing] arm and I didn't want to overthrow or have guys not get the good work because there's only one quarterback".
