Postgame recap: Jazz 116, Pelicans 99

Davis, who Gentry said Saturday would be a game-time decision, did not play in Friday's 116-97 loss against the Washington Wizards - New Orleans' first defeat since February 9.

New Orleans is 3-4 this season without Davis in the lineup.

Rubio kept the Jazz afloat in a poor-shooting first half, spraying in midrange jumpers and finishing with his second-straight double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Gobert recorded his 22nd double-double this season and 10th in 13 games.

The Jazz were able to win while weathering a triple-double effort from Davis, who was cleared to play shortly before the tipoff. In his absence, the Pelicans' franchise-record 10-game winning streak ended with a lopsided loss to Washington on Friday.

Whistles changed the dynamic of the game after the Jazz took a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

The 21-year-old had only two points going into halftime, but he closed the period by scoring 15 points over the final three minutes with several sensational plays along the way. Six of his blocks came in the first half. Utah finished with a 55-38 rebounding advantage. The team was saved by Rubio's tremendous first half, and at halftime, only a Jrue Holliday 3-pointer separated the Pelicans from Utah, who trailed 51-48. On a previous possession New Orleans had a chance to cut a nine-point deficit to six, but misfired on a three-point attempt.
