A 90 per cent shot? Tiger seeks to maintain awesome Sunday record

A 90 per cent shot? Tiger seeks to maintain awesome Sunday record

Tiger Woods was right in front of him Saturday, and Conners could hear the roars all afternoon.

Conners, who's held the lead after each of the first three days, made the field as an alternate and is now 18 holes from his first PGA Tour victory. Woods rewarded the support on Friday with a round that started in 50-degree temperatures on the 10th hole and featured birdies on his third and fourth holes of the day.

He will look to complete an extraordinary wire-to-wire win Sunday when he plays alongside 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose in the day's final pairing.

"It was great", Snedeker said of his round on Saturday after firing a 67 in front of Woods.

Thinking of that image of Woods and to now see him near the lead of a golf tournament just 13 months later is remarkable. The world number five only dropped one shot while the highlight of his round was a holed approach to the 11th that brought him an eagle.

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow", he said.

"I'm up there", Woods said.

Donovan rechaza que abucheos ante América lo hayan impactado
Por lo que cree que "siempre fue un sueño jugar en México , y es posible que sea la única vez que pueda jugar en el Azteca ante América , espero aprovecharlo bien".

Starting on Saturday two shots behind Canadian Corey Conners, Woods made birdies on this third and fifth holes before delighting the galleries when he did not require his putter as he made the turn. "I ust wanted to get another opportunity to play, and fortunately I was able to get that opportunity this week and had a good week so far". So many people tuned into the PGA Tour Live subscription service during the second round that it crashed for about 25 minutes for some users.

"I've come a long way in that span of time", Woods said.

"It's fun to hear the crowd going insane again and realise how excited we are in having him back out here and play the way he is".

Both know, however, that Woods is probably the man they're truly chasing, no matter how good Conners has been through the first three days.

While a victory for Woods could have enormous impact on the game worldwide, a win by Conners would be a life changer for him as an individual. "It's fun to hear the crowd going insane again and realize how excited we are in having him back out here and playing the way he is".

"Hopefully I'll make a few more birdies and keep that card clean". "It's fun seeing him out there, and I'm sure he'll be battling hard tomorrow, but hopefully I can play my game and have a good day". "Did I feel any pain? No". He missed the putt and didn't seem all that bothered.

One of the most impressive aspects of Woods' return has been his short game.

Imagine if you will the constant and intense scrutiny Woods is under every time he steps onto a golf course. Then he made his major mistake of the day, hitting over the green at the 13th, leaving him with a almost impossible chip that he left in a bunker.
